Margaret-Anne O’Donnell

Margaret-Anne’s background is in arts management, venue and company leadership, touring, producing and programming working with a variety of Scotland’s theatre companies. She has extensive experience managing, producing and touring productions and co-productions both in the UK and internationally, directing and managing arts organisations, their teams and stake-holders at significant periods of change; she has been responsible for securing key co-producers and financial partners for several large-scale productions. She started her love affair with theatre as an Usher and FOH cover manager at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow while also working at the box office and stage door of the Citizens Theatre.

Before setting up Raw Material, Margaret-Anne worked in a variety of posts for the National Theatre of Scotland for its first 13 years. Her first producing project was Home - NTS’s launch event, and since then has been involved in producing the work of a wealth of Scotland and the UK's artists including; The James Plays by Rona Munro (NTS, EIF & NTGB), Dunsinane by David Greig, Our Ladies of Perpetual Succour by Lee Hall, Adam by Frances Poet, Eve by Jo Clifford, Black Watch by Gregory Burke, The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart by David Greig, Let the Right One in by Jack Thorne.

With previous companies and now as Raw Material she has lead and managed productions and tours across Scotland at all scales, from our largest theatres to our village halls and further afield to a myriad of partners, venues and major festivals in the UK, Ireland, Brazil, China, USA, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Russia.
