Gillian Garrity

Gillian began her career in the 1990s at the Tron Theatre in Glasgow and has since gone on to work with many Scottish theatre companies and venues, with projects ranging from international tour management to commissioning and programming. She has secured co-producers, financial partners and key stakeholders, producing work at major festivals both in the UK and internationally, touring across the world including Taiwan, South Korea, USA, Philippines, Malaysia, Brazil, Singapore, China, Australia and across Europe.

Gillian often works on an advisory basis, both as mentor to artists and as a board member for cultural organisations, currently including 21Common and Take Me Somewhere festival, where she was the inaugural Executive Producer. She is currently an ISPA Fellow (International Society for the Performing Arts) and has been both an FST mentee and mentor as well as an advisor on the FST producer panel. Gillian has contributed to several award panels, including the Arches Brick Award and Adrian Howells Award.

As an Executive Producer, her key aims are to provide creative leadership and support for the artists and teams that she works with, encouraging the creative processes that enable the development of new, stimulating and imaginative theatre work.

Gillian is a passionate advocate for diversity and access in the Scottish cultural sector.
